Terms & Warranty

BATTERY WARRANTY TERMS & CONDITIONS

At Superstart Batteries, we are committed to total customer satisfaction by providing quality products and quality service at all times.

Superstart Batteries will honour all genuine warranty claims. All new batteries sold are covered by a replacement warranty that is backed by the battery’s respective brand or manufacturer. The warranty period begins from the date of purchase and is stated on the battery. Do take note of the differences in warranty period based on application (i.e. private use, commercial use, taxi use, etc)

A warranty claim is only applicable where the battery fails as a result of a manufacturing or material fault. Misuse, damage, poor installation practices or improper maintenance do not constitute a warranty claim.

Possible causes of battery failure that are not the result of the battery manufacturer’s fault include:
– Normal wear and tear
– Flat battery or total discharge, sulphated or neglect.
– Flat battery caused by faulty vehicle parts (alternator) or lights left on when the engine is not running.
We provide a battery recharging service for a reasonable fee.
– Incorrect or under-specified battery type fitted to car.
– Inappropriate or improper use of the battery for purposes other than that for which it was designed.
– A failure to follow installation, operating or maintenance instructions.
– Charge system problem (low or high voltage) due to the vehicle’s electrical system or bench charger, creating an over-charge or under-charge situation.  A low voltage will cause the battery to sulphate while a high voltage will cook the internal components of the battery.
– Repeated deep discharge (heavy accessory loads, car phones, lighting, boat accessories, etc)
– Prolonged storage of the car or very minimal use.  A battery will generally sulphate and will never recover its full state of charge.
– Electrical faults (short, excessive loads)
– Any battery modifications such as acid additives, lead terminal changes, or any other contaminates.
– Damage to the battery caused by the consumer or other in-car fault.
– Parts that have been subjected to deliberate abuse
– Conditions resulting from abnormal wear, negligence, alterations or accidents
– Repairs, alterations and modifications to the battery which have been performed by a third party without Superstart Batteries’ consent.

The warranty also does not include:
– Cost of consumables or accessories or labour costs
– Wear and tear
– Normal or scheduled maintenance
– To the extent permitted by law, any damage to property, personal injury, direct or indirect loss, consequential losses or other expenses
– Changes in the condition or operational qualities of the battery, resulting from incorrect storage or mounting, or due to climatic, environmental or other influences.

Proof of purchase must be supplied with any warranty claim. Depending on the circumstances, we may require more time to accurately assess the battery’s condition by charging it up and running further tests (eg: Deep cycle batteries) and in some cases, have the battery thoroughly inspected by the manufacturer as the warranty is backed by them.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us for further clarification. Thanks for your purchase! 🙂
