Also known by Volvo as a support battery, this supplies additional power for vehicles with start stop. Commonly when a vehicle encounters problems and errors related to the start/stop system this battery should be tested for 12v. If after charging function is still not restored or 12v cannot be maintained, this battery should be replaced. It is located in the firewall cowling towards the windshield in P3 chassis cars and many SPA cars. When replacing on a SPA vehicle, ensure the car is inactive, this can be checked by turning the engine start knob counter clockwise for 1 second.
